Lee County Commissioners will be discussing an extension of the contract for beach renourishment that Gasparilla Island has with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at their meeting on Tuesday, May 17.
To celebrate Banyan Gasparilla’s sales success, developer Integra Investments and sales and marketing partner Gulf to Bay Sotheby’s International Realty recently hosted a cocktail event with more than 85 attendees. The gathering, which was held at Coral Creek Golf Club, also served to launch the property’s 83 new resort condominiums and officially unveil the partnership with Evolution Hospitality Management and Taste & Theory – the next evolution of this coastal community.
It’s difficult to get your bearings when you first see the old Fishery property without the shops, the fish house, the restaurant and the charter fishing buildings that used to be there. The only things left to remind you at this point are the concrete platform the restaurant once stood upon, the old docks and the last two Albritton houses still standing on the southernmost tip. The view is breathtaking, with the alcove and docks for Gasparilla Marina on your left and the old railroad trestle over to the right. The old memories are still there, but new memories are to be made.
Donations made out to the Charlotte Community Foundation cannot be designated for the benefit of Gasparilla Mobile Estates. They can be designated for Charlotte County Tornado Victims and therefore may be used to assist any tornado victim in Charlotte County.
“The luxury condominiums with features and amenities of this caliber are very attractive to buyers looking to enjoy the coastal lifestyle Southwest Florida offers,” said Rich Taylor of Gulf to Bay Sotheby’s International Realty. “This is reflective of the fact we have 80 percent of the released inventory under reservation, with the majority of reservations coming from Boca Grande.”
This week it was announced that Banyan Gasparilla Sound, just outside of Boca Grande at the Fishery property, has opened up their sales through Gulf to Bay Sotheby’s International Realty’s Rich Taylor.
The announcement contains the most details released to date and includes information about the 99 condominiums, designed by SB Architects, that start at $1.3 million. The sizes will range from 1,400 to 2,100 square feet with two or three bedroom options and will be decorator ready.
The project also includes 83 fully furnished resort residences.
On Sunday, Jan. 16 at 6:37 a.m. the winds of change blew at 110 mph for many residents of Gasparilla Mobile Estates. The EF-1 tornado that touched down and cut a narrow swath through the park completely destroyed seven mobile homes, and up to 33 more had damage. Many of the homes that were not destroyed still have been tagged as unfit for inhabitance. That means while people can still go in and get belongings and look at damage at their own risk, they cannot live there.
Out of the homes affected, only two were insured.
