Trio-Linda Wolcott The Dog ParkBY SUE ERWIN – The tradition of the biennial trio art exhibit will continue this weekend, as Jack Horner teams up with Toni and Linda Wolcott to host their art show at the Boca Grande Art Center.
The trio will display various works of watercolor, oil and pastel art.
The shows have been taking place since 2003.
Horner is a member of the Allied Artists of America, Virginia Watercolor Society and the American Artists Professional League. He has won numerous awards for his work.
He also teaches a class called “Watercolor for Dudes.”
When asked what inspired him to start teaching, he said he saw a void of male artists in the organizations he is affiliated with. Trio-Jack Horner
“All of the classes I took were filled with women; there were hardly any men, and I know there are male artists out there who would like to work together in a group,” he said.
Horner was president of the Boca Grande Art Alliance eight years ago.
Toni Wolcott and her sister-in-law, Linda, have been doing shows together for several years.
“Several years ago, Jack joined us for the Wolcott-Horner-Wolcott shows. We each have our own style, that, combined, seems like a good mix,” Toni said.
The opening reception will be on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The show will continue on Sunday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Boca Grande Art Center is located at 236 Banyan St. on the island.
