Inn Marina Manager Brian Knight recently received a letter that made him quite happy. It came from Mercury Marine, and declared the Inn Marina to be number one in service, as nominated by their customers.

In 2006 Mercury Marine implemented the Service CSI Award to recognize the dealers who “set the mark” in delivering customer satisfaction while serving Mercury and MerCruiser products.

“Because of your dealership’s outstanding commitment to deliver excellence in customer satisfaction this past year, Inn Marina has met all the requirements needed to receive the 2022 Service CSI Award,” the letter read. “This is truly an honor, as only 230 dealers across North America qualified for this award.” The Inn Marina has received this award for five years running.

Requirements to meet the award standards include being a Mercury Premiere or Certified Service level dealer at the end of the fourth quarter of 2022; meeting the minimum amount of Service CSI surveys returned from customers during the 2022 calendar year; and maintaining a rolling 12-month CSI score of 94 or higher.

Born and raised in the Boca Grande area, Brian has deep roots in the community; both sides of his family have resided in the area for more than seven generations and his father and grandfather worked in the local marine industry. For more than 40 years Brian’s grandfather, John Knight, owned and managed the Knight Brother’s Marina, which is now The Inn Marina. At that time, the marina was a working boatyard where custom boats up to 48′ were built. The anchor on display at The Inn Marina was recovered from the Boca Grande pass by John Knight in the early 1980s, and has been the landmark symbol of the marina ever since.

Brian joined The Gasparilla Inn & Club as manager of The Inn Marina in the fall of 2006. Brian spent 15 years working for Mercury, and has had his 100 Ton Master Captain’s license for more than three decades.
