Each year, the Boca Beacon publishes a guide to all things Gasparilla Island, the Boca Beacon Visitor’s Guide. The annual publication is the official guide to Gasparilla Island.

The booklet, which is free, has a 30,000 circulation. It is the only all-inclusive printed resource for visitors and residents to find out about all things Boca Grande.

The guidebook includes information about beaches, local lore and history. Alongside our restaurant, hotel and activity directories, there are guides to seabirds, fish and shells, all designed to make the booklet an essential reference for the entire extended family. The book is designed for long shelf life, as visitors can use it throughout their entire stay.

The Visitor’s Guide and a separate product, our Boca Grande Street Map, have as a key distribution point the Boca Grande Causeway, where we delivered a pallet this week. The guidebooks, and a separately distributed map product, are offered by bridge staff to new visitors.

This year, the cover photo is by Ashley Lippincott, a photographer. She photographed the aerial photo on July 4, 2023.

In order to encourage overnight and day visitors, the distribution area for the guide runs from Burnt Store to Venice. Distribution points include area chambers of commerce, tourism offices, (including Boca Grande and Englewood) and local marinas and hotels.

The guide and advertisers in the Visitor’s Guide are also included in the award winning Boca Grande app.

The guide and its companion app are trusted in helping folks on and off-island make decisions on everything from golf carts to real estate.

The Boca Grande app allows updates to company specific information such as changes in hours of operation, special events or special sales. These can be incorporated into your listing by our in-house app technician at any time.

Over 100 local advertisers help to support the guide, not only on the island, but across Cape Haze and in Englewood.

Anyone who wishes to have extra copies can call the office at 941-964-2995 or their sales rep.
