To the Editor:
Thanks so much to the Board of Directors of Project Detect, Inc. for their generous contribution of $3,000 that will fund cancer screenings for patients at the Englewood Community Care Clinic. We are grateful for their continued support of our work year after year.
The mission of the clinic is to provide free medical services to the uninsured and working poor in the greater Englewood area. Project Detect funds have allowed our clinic to provide 45 patients with screenings for breast, lung, stomach, thyroid and testicular cancers at a cost of $11,124. We could not provide the quality of care we are able to do without their support.
Our impact as a clinic continues to grow. We now have more than 2,780 patients who have been treated in more than 7,000 patient visits by our volunteer providers since the clinic opened in January, 2011. We couldn’t do this work without help from generous donors like them.
