STAFF REPORT – Local first responders responded to three different accidents on the island this week, but luckily none with serious injury involved.
The first call came in on Friday, June 4 at approximately 9 a.m., when it was reported that a bicycle vs. vehicle accident occurred at Park Avenue and 5th Street W. The female bicyclist was fine and did not require transport.
The second call was at 1st Street and Park Avenue, where a juvenile was involved in a vehicle vs. bicycle accident at approximately 8 a.m. He fine and was not transported by ambulance.
The third call came in on Monday, June 7 as a missing kayaker incident/rescue. A female was reportedly caught in rough water while attempting to travel from Bocilla to Cayo Costa. She was located in good healthy by a Lee County Sheriff’s Office marine unit.
