No, this is not a political conversation, I am talking about my flies for snook and redfish. With the clear water and clear skies, the fish have been easy to spot but hard to feed.

Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to fly fish with some great anglers here in Boca Grande. Throwing flies (hooks with feathers some would say) is probably not the best way to get the fish into the boat, but why make it easier? I have had a ton of fun seeing my anglers use flies I have tied this winter to catch some great fish in shallow waters around Charlotte Harbor, but the fish we catch are only half the story. The fish we don’t catch are the rest of the story … and sometimes they just laugh at us as they swim away. This humble experience has helped me appreciate all the beautiful things going on in this beautiful place!
