LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Apology given for miscommunication over Bike Path signs

Every morning I pick up trash….even things as small as cigarette butts….along the bike trail when I’m walking home. One morning this week, there were quite a few signs that had been put up along the path urging us all to be polite and careful. They did not appear to be official, so, mistaking them for an individual making a personal statement on a right of way used by just about everyone, I removed them.

ASK A DOC: Hip surgery and what to expect

There are two kinds of hip replacement surgery – total and partial. With total hip replacement, the entire damaged bone or cartilage is replaced with a prosthetic component. This is one of the most common types of joint replacement performed in the United States: more than 450,000 a year.
This procedure is more complicated and has a more challenging recovery period than partial hip replacement, which is recommended for patients whose hip joint ball is worn and needs to be replaced with a prosthesis. Partial hip replacement is more straightforward and has the shortest recovery period. It accounts for a quarter of all hip procedures, with nearly 100,000 operations performed per year in the United States.

I sit here with my phone on a synonym app because I know I just can’t find in my head enough superlatives to express how FANTASTIC this Royal Palm Players production of “The Fantasticks” is that awaits you ticket holders! I speak from the heart, truly, because the talent on this particular stage this time will have you talking and singing for days. Maybe months. After COVID and its ups and downs, finally we get to enjoy some theatre time in the auditorium since “Nunsense” was canceled after three nights, two years ago.
