He was raised in Milton, Mass., and was a graduate of Milton Academy, class of 1947. He graduated from Providence College with a degree in Economics, and attended Northeastern University for graduate studies.
Before moving to Boca Grande Dick was a commercial real-estate developer in the Boston area, and an active member of the American Arbitration Association.
An avid gardener and sportsman, Dick was a member of the Boca Grande Pass Yacht Club, the Boca Grande Menʼs Club, and a member of the Gasparilla Inn Golf and Beach Club. As an involved member of the Boca Grande community, he was a two-term member of GICIA Board.
Dick married the former Jane Randolph Preston in 1952. He is survived by his wife, four children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
