The Lighthouse United Methodist Church is pleased to confirm that the 2024 Strawberry Festival will be held on March 2, 2024. The hours for the event are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Boca Grande Community Center grounds situated at the corner of Banyon Street and Park Street.

We anticipate having all the fun and community spirit at this year’s event, including children’s activities, face painting (last year we served nearly 100 children), grilled foods and ice-cold beverages, home and boutique-type bargains galore, baked goods, children’s items, the art sale, the music, and of course our beloved, homemade strawberry shortcake desserts.

This year we are thrilled to welcome six new members to our Committee Chairperson leadership team, who bring amazing energy and ideas.  We continue to be blessed by so many Committee Chairpersons who provide us with steadfast guidance and support that makes the Strawberry Festival the perennial success it has grown into today.

We couldn’t ask for a better leadership foundation as we move into this year’s Festival planning.  Amy Mitchell and Leslie McGeehen, members of Boca Grande Lighthouse United Methodist Church, have agreed to spearhead this year’s Festival as Co-Chairpersons.

Last year, with the leadership of the United Women in Faith, the team disbursed all funds raised during the Festival, totaling nearly $150,000 to various charities.

The 2024 Strawberry Festival will continue the longstanding tradition of Festival sales benefiting women and children through contributions to local charities.

To that end, the 2024 Strawberry Festival team needs your help and donations this year.

Please contact Amy Mitchell and Leslie McGeehen via email at lmcgeehen@gmail.com, amylmitchell@live.com if you would like to contribute or have any questions:

Ideas include but are not limited to: donations of vacation omes for silent auction; donations of unique experiences (speakers, sporting events, event tickets); donations of private chef/dining experiences; donations of golf packages; fine and costume jewelry; small kitchen appliances; baby/children’s equipment and toys; art and wall decor; home decor; kitchen/cooking Items; dinnerware/china; beach and pool Gear; indoor and outdoor furniture; lamps, rugs and mirrors.

Historically our community has been aggressively generous with their gifts of both service and donations and we are so very grateful for those contributions, year over year.  If for any reason you wish to contribute but are not able to be on island for the event, please visit our Go Fund Me page for virtual donations. gofund.me/4bee358f

We look forward to the community coming together once again for the 2024 Strawberry Festival on March 2 at the Boca Grande Community Center Grounds.
