LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Share the magic of the season at the lighting of the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse

Barrier Island Parks Society, BIPS invites friends and families to share the magic of the season at the annual Lighting of the Lighthouse on December 11. Gates to the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum, located at 880 Belcher Rd., Boca Grande will open at 5:30 p.m. and the famous countdown to the lighting of the lights will be at approximately 5:45 p.m.
On this one exciting night, the historic lighthouse beacon will shine into the night sky, surrounded with thousands of beautiful holiday lights, live music, complimentary appetizers, and merry cheer! Celebrate the holidays and enjoy holiday shopping at the lighthouse gift shop and unique silent auction. Wine will be served for a small donation. The event is free and there is a $3 per vehicle fee upon entry for parking in Florida State Parks.
Proceeds support the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum and four local barrier island Florida State Parks. Please join BIPS for the festivities and make the Lighting of the Lighthouse a wonderful addition to your holiday tradition each and every year!
