A new book by Sandy Jacobs is hot off the press. “Fragments” is a novel based on family memories.

The story begins in Kishinev, Ukraine, where the author’s 15-year-old grandmother and her family live happy, secure lives—until the unthinkable occurs.

The village is struck by a series of bloody pogroms led by the Cossacks forcing the family and others like them to abandon their homes and run for their lives.

Like so many other immigrant families, they arrive in the US and have to rebuild their lives.

“The story is basically my grandmother’s,” says island author, Sandy Jacobs. “It is based on snippets of stories passed down by the family for scores of years until I pieced them together to create this fictionalized version based on facts.”

Sandy Ross Jacobs’ other books, “Francie’s Story”; “Tropical Disturbances”; and “After the Storm” have become popular sellers on Amazon.com in paperback and e-book formats and are available locally at Fugate’s, The Tides bookstore and Courtyard Hair, or directly from the author at sandyrossjacobs@gmail.com. Treat yourself to an interesting, fast-moving read. Delivery is easily available by contacting author by email.
