This year, the 4th of July festivities will begin bright and early at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, as all participants in the 3rd annual 4th of July golf cart and bicycle parade will congregate in the parking lot next to PJ’s Seagrille.
Decorate as you will, just keep it festive and 4th of July-ish. Please, no motorized vehicles in the parade for the safety of the younger participants. Bring your own water, it will be hot!
Then, at 10 p.m. that night, Boca Grande Marina will sponsor a fireworks extravaganza. Best viewing will be from the mid-section of the island, and from the harbor. Please, no coolers.
Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary will present the annual Englewood Firecracker Festival and block party, followed by the largest fireworks show in Southwest Florida. The fun begins on Dearborn Street at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, where more than 60 craft vendors will be lining the streets along with the area’s largest muscle car show, and a kids game area with waterslides and bounce houses.
Live bands will be taking the stage, including Smoked Mullet, Echo Matrix and the Boca Bande. Fireworks will be shot off from Middle Beach on Manasota Key at 9 p.m.
Venice fireworks will be shot from the South Jetty just after sunset on the 4th of July.
