Betty Jane Shiarella passed away on November 19, 2015. Betty was a long-time resident of Boca Grande and has many friends here. The family will have a memorial mass for her at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Boca Grande at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26.

The swing bridge will be closed to boat traffic from February 8-15 so contractors tearing down the old swing bridge can remove some of the steel. The closure was originally slated for the first week in February, but they were unable to perform the work they needed to do because of extenuating circumstances.
