Please, don’t obstruct the beach walkway

Even though it would take a Philadelphia lawyer to decipher what you wrote, Marcy, regarding the restriction of the historic walkway along the waterfront, the point is that it is definitely a public walkway, not only from a legal point of view, but from a historic point of view.
Being a lifelong resident of the island and an amateur historian, I can attest that the property in question has been used by the public for the purpose of walking and viewing for over 70 years.
Those people who are planting bushes and or trees to restrict the promenade are in violation of the law. It is not necessary to mention names, everyone who is a resident of the island or uses the walkway knows who they are.
It is incumbent for those people to restrain their illegal actions. This would be in the public interest, and one would hope that it would also clear the conscience’s of those interlopers.
