Moderna booster shots available by appointment
The Boca Grande Health Clinic will offer drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinics for our registered patients and Island employees who signed the Boca Grande Pledge. The Clinic will administer the Moderna vaccine by appointment under the Clinic Annex carport.
Drive-thru booster clinics will be open from 9 a.m. to Noon on the following days:
• Thursday, Oct. 28
• Thursday, Nov. 11
• Additional clinics will be scheduled as needed
Please call the Clinic at 941-964-2276 and select option 2 to leave your name, phone number, date of birth and date of your second vaccination to be put on our COVID-19 booster wait list. We will call you to set up your appointment.
Will getting a flu shot interfere with my COVID-19 vaccination?
Health experts agree that it’s fine to get a flu shot if you are vaccinated against COVID-19. It’s even okay to get a flu shot along with a COVID-19 shot.
Who is eligible for a booster shot?
Anyone who has completed their initial vaccine series at least six months ago who:
• Is 65 years of age and older or
• Has underlying medical conditions that make them high risk of severe COVID-19 or
• Work in high-risk settings
Is it okay to get a Moderna booster if I had the Pfizer vaccine?
The US Food and Drug Administration has given the official green light allowing healthcare providers and patients the freedom to have any of the three authorized vaccines be used as a booster in a “mix and match” approach.
