Briefly: Meet your Charlotte officials on April 17 at Community Center
Islanders are cordially invited to attend next week’s Town Hall at the Community Center.
It will be held Wednesday, April 17 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
This will be an opportunity to meet Charlotte County elected officials including Commission Chairman Bill Truex. It will also include representatives from Sen. Rick Scott and Rep. Greg Steube’s district offices.
The primary focus of the Town Hall will be to identify ways to better coordinate hurricane preparation & response affecting both the Lee and Charlotte County sides of Gasparilla Island, based on the post-Hurricane Ian experience.
An additional topic will be obtaining citizen input on ways to improve emergency response on both sides of Gasparilla Island where useful, or needed.
The overall goal of the Town Hall will be to spotlight where Gasparilla Island is best viewed as “one island” by governments for essential public safety services.
Both Charlotte & Lee County residents are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.
