Letters: Artists thank Boca Grande community for support for festival
To the Editor:
I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone in Boca Grande for embracing the Art Festival recently. Art On Park Avenue was very successful and I appreciate being able to bring my artist friends to the island for such a prestigious event.
I want to thank the downtown businesses especially for sharing your space with the art festival. I realize that closing the street is a big deal, but my hope is that we can make this an annual event and that you will all participate in at some level next year to bring more people into your shops, restaurants and stores.
We had a few glitches and a couple of wobbles but all in all it was a very smooth weekend and a fantastic crowd. I can’t tell you how many people thanked me for bringing the show to town. It was exciting.
I want to thank Gary Cross and the Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce for working with me. Together we make a great team and I’m happy that it was a profitable fundraiser for them as well.
I also want to thank the Boca Beacon and their staff, especially Daniel Godwin for his expertise in advertising design and Garland Pollard for promoting the event.
Most of all I would like to thank the homeowners, residents and visitors to the island for coming out and supporting the artists the way you did. You made us feel welcome and you made Art On Park Avenue one of the most successful events of the year.
We appreciate it so much.
Thank you.
