No one can deny that Edward A. Dean, Jr. was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who cared deeply for his family. He fought the good fight for 84 years. He was born in Bartow, Florida on January 23, 1940, and passed away on Sunday morning in his beloved mountain cabin in Wolf Laurel, North Carolina on September 8, 2024.

He was a daredevil stunt pilot, cattle rancher in Costa Rica, was involved in the Contras/Sandinistas Nicaraguan war, had a citrus plant in Ft Meade and Palm co. tree farm on Pine Island, Fla. Edward loved his family, travel and hair raising adventure but wanted to be quietly laid to rest with no services in Bainbridge, Ga. with the Dean clan, especially Pappy Dean, the family patriarch.

He is survived by his wife Deanna; their children, Mark and his wife, Yana, Miriam and her husband, Kraig, Shamus and his wife, Lauren; the grandchildren, Bryce, Ashley and her husband, Ryan, Josh, Aubrey, Whit; and Wesleigh; and his niece, Kelly Keister and her husband, Mike.

I wonder if his guardian angels, worn out robes and tattered wings, were waiting at the Gate, and said, “Buckle up everybody. Here he comes!”
