The Becky Buller Band to perform at Coconut Cabaret

The Friends of Boca Grande are excited to present The Becky Buller Band on Thursday, March 31, at the Coconut Cabaret. Located at the Crowninshield Community House, Becky Buller Band is scheduled to perform two shows, 5 p.m. to a sold-out crowd, and at 8 p.m. 
The Coconut Cabaret features vintage vibes that come alive in the speakeasy-style of the Prohibition era. Guests will enjoy table seating and bring-your-own food and beverages while enjoying the performance.

Englewood Invitational Spring Art Festival to feature 40 artists and craftsmen this weekend 

The Englewood Invitational Spring Art Festival is slated for Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the Englewood Elks Club at 401 N. Indiana Avenue in Englewood.
This juried art show is the brainchild of local artist, Carroll Swayze and promises to be the “Best Little Art Show in Englewood.”

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: A Maritime Exposition Honoring the Whidden Sisters’ Legacy

On Saturday, March 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. the board of the Gasparilla Island Maritime Museum will host a “Maritime Exposition Honoring the Whidden Sisters’ Legacy” at the museum and marina. Events will include music, food, local art for sale and more.
“The GIMM Board of Directors has changed, and has hit the ground running,” said Board Member (and family member) Kacy Cheske. “As a board, we have been making a lot of positive changes. We wanted to have an event to share the Museum with the community new changes and existing features.”

Always try to change your going-out times, so your pet doesn’t become dependent on a specific schedule. For example, if you always take your pet out for a walk at 10 a.m., it will get used to that. What happens if one day you can’t go out at 10 a.m.? Your pet will get frustrated and will act out. But if Fido doesn’t know just when he’s going to go out, he won’t bother you. Also, at times make sure that you go out without your dog, so it can learn to stay home by itself. And don’t come home during your lunch hour just to let the dog out or spend time with it. Although your intentions are good, what happens one day when you can’t come home?
