By Staff Report

A group calling itself Parcels to the People has scheduled a public meeting on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m., outside at the Boca Grande Community Center. They aim to discuss issues related to postal service on Gasparilla Island.

Email bgpushforaction@yahoo.com for details.

In the meantime, keep in mind that residents have many options in reporting issues with their mail service.

Keep records, track information and other details for packages. Other contact information:

  • Congress: One suggestion offered by users on island is to make complaints known via the website of U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, at donalds.house.gov. There is a tab with CONTACT on it, and there is a link to a formal casework form specifically regarding postal issues.
  • USPS Help: Customers in need of assistance with mailing or shipping concerns may call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777), or visit their website at usps.com/help.
  • Inspector General: The U.S.P.S. and its Office of Inspector General can be reached at 1-888-USPS-OIG.
