Interested volunteers sought to fill GIBA advisory seat

The Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority has an open advisory board position for seat 7 (a two-year term). Advisory board members are Authority appointed, nonvoting members of the board of supervisors.
All GIBA board members, both voting and nonvoting, are unpaid volunteers who are required to file an annual Financial Disclosure (Form 1) to the State ethics commission. The GIBA board meets a minimum of once each quarter, and there is additional optional committee service as well.
Interested volunteers sought to fill advisory seatAdvisory member qualifications require GIBA candidates to either be an island resident (registered voter) or an island property owner. Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to: GIBA, Attn: Executive Director Kathy Banson-Verrico, P.O. Box 1918, Boca Grande, FL 33921.
Letters of interest for this position are now being accepted. The application period closes on April 11, 2017.
The board may schedule a period of time during a special or regular meeting which they shall entertain brief presentations by those candidates whom the board or its designee determines are qualified. Immediately after any or all such presentations, an election of the voting members of the board shall be held and at the conclusion of the Board vote, the new non-voting advisory member takes his/her seat.
