The Boca Grande Historic Preservation Board will meet at the Boca Grande Community Center auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. to consider a number of items, including three planned items:
- A request to change the status of 446 4th Street E from Noncontributing to Contributing in the Boca Grande Historic District HD (District) 90-05-01. The Board will consider whether to direct staff to schedule the matter for public hearing.
- A Special Certificate of Appropriateness for the Boca Grande Health Clinic, at 280 Park Avenue. The request is for a Special Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish the existing Boca Grande Health Clinic Annex and construct a larger replacement building.
- A remanded case relating to 161 & 181 Gilchrist Avenue discussing the new construction of a Gulf-front house. The Special Certificate of Appropriateness was denied by the Board on April 12, 2023. The applicant appealed, and the Lee County Hearing Examiner found no competent evidence on record to support the denial. Staff is seeking approval of the SCA in accordance with the Hearing Examiner’s Order.
