BY SUSAN HANAFEE – Don’t forget to drop by the art sale this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Methodist Church on Gilchrist Avenue. All proceeds from the sale will be distributed by the United Methodist Women (UMW) to local charities that benefit women and children in need.
Many of these items would normally be featured in the silent auction of the UMW’s annual Strawberry Festival, which was postponed because of COVID.
Although all pieces are individually priced, there will be an opportunity to bid on three paintings: an oil by Jane Carlson of a shell and a shawl; a floral watercolor and an oil of a parrot and tropical foliage, both by the late artist Wini Smart.
All purchases must be made by check.
