Memorial Day sandbar lineup announced

On Saturday, May 23, the Uncle Don’s Boca H2O Music Festival will be held in the water off the sandbar between Gasparilla Island and Placida. The concert is put together by Big Boy Toyz Expo.
The schedule includes DJ Dank at 9 a.m., American Made at 11:30 a.m., Tayler Holder at 1 p.m. and Redferrin from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Access to the festival is by water. Both the Placida Fishing Pier, a Charlotte county pier in Placida and the Boca Grande Fishing Pier on island are closed due to hurricane damage, though there is some limited parking there. There is no access from the Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority.
