Lee County gives Thursday update for Boca Grande recovery

As the recovery of Boca Grande from Hurricane Helene continues, Lee County has an update for Gasparila Island for Thursday, Oct. 3:

• Debris collection will continue throughout the weekend. Lee County Solid Waste continues regular household collections and debris collection. For how to set out your materials, visit www.leegov.com/storm.

• Our Hurricane Helene Boca Grande Community Coordination Team for Lee County Government will be on-island this weekend. Even if you can’t find them in person, though, they remain available to you. Email JBrooks2@leegov.com and SPerez@leegov.com.
• Many other departments – DOT, Community Development, Facilities, Parks & Recreation and Community Engagement, to name a few – are continuing with recovery efforts.
