The Light Keeper’s Open golf tournament took place on Monday, October 17 at The Gasparilla Inn & Club golf course.

The event was a fundraiser for the Gasparilla Island Lighthouse restoration project. More than $21,000 was raised for the cause.

Thirteen teams participated in the tournament. The fun began with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

Two hole-in-one prize opportunities were available, with the potential to win $10,000 or a new golf cart. Debbie Eisbrener and Kathy Hadamick kept watch over the attempt to win $10,000 on Hole No. 6. Nobody made a hole-in-one.

An awards reception at The Gasparilla Inn Beach Club followed the tournament, featuring culinary delights from The Inn’s talented chefs. Barrier Island Parks Society President Jim Grant thanked the attendees for their participation in the tournament.
