BY T MICHELE WALKER – Residents living in the 760 Gulf Blvd. block received a courtesy notice regarding receipt of a zoning application dated February 10, 2021.
“This application is for a parking variance for the South Beach Grille restaurant,” said Timothy Engstrom. “The applicant is seeking approval to allow an expansion of the existing restaurant that consists of 1,000 square feet of outdoor seating area that, according to the application materials, has been constructed without the required permits. The existing restaurant does not comply with the parking requirement for restaurants in the Land Development Code, and the unpermitted expansion of the restaurant impacts compliance with the LDC. The applicant is seeking the requested variance to legitimize the non-compliant parking supply for the restaurant, as expanded.”
An insufficiency letter for the case dated February 23, was sent to Michael P. Haymans, Attorney for South Beach Bar & Grille regarding additional information required for the application. The business has 30 calendar days to provide the supplemental information or corrections and if not received, the application will be considered withdrawn.
A public hearing date has not yet been set. Residents will be sent another notice when a hearing date and time have been established.
