Wondering about the paving?

If you’ve been wondering when the repaving of island roads would begin, the time has come.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 10 on the Lee County portion of the Bike Path (south of 1st Street), so plan for detours if you’re used to driving your cart into town from the south end.
Later on next week, roadwork will begin as well. The plan is to work from the south to the north, and once they hit Gasparilla Road they will also be widening the road to include shoulders on each side.
Just a word of warning to all: Please look out for construction workers and slow down where they are present.
