Work began on the new Gasparilla Island Water Association, The Island School held their annual Friendship Dance and the Pine Leaf Boys were shakin’ it at the Historical Society fundraiser.

Florida Field was making cookies at the Child Care Center, Tom Gilligan was making the kids some pizza and Evelyn Finnegan told them stories and sang.

FIFTEEN YEARS AGO

Capt. Sandy was fishing with Daytona winner Ryan Newman and three people were attacked by a hawk in Boca Bay. Boca Grande’s first Relay for Life raised more than $11,000 for the American Cancer Society.

TWENTY YEARS AGO

Misty didn’t know who took the mooring buoys in the bayou near Miller’s Marina, or why they did it, but she was glad they were gone. Carolann and Lo Lo were selling tickets to “Castaways.”
