Of course, it takes a strong membership base to maintain a growing and successful nonprofit organization.
In an effort to further its’ mission the GICIA Board of Directors has implemented the use of a website. The website is very basic in its design said Bob Elliott, Chairman of the GICIA Communications Committee.
“In this technologically advanced day and age, not having at least a basic internet presence is a detriment to the GICIA and the important work we do” said Elliott.
The site succinctly lays out the three important components GICIA focuses on in its efforts to maintain the small island charm and quality of life of Boca Grande residents. These include the Gasparilla Island Conservation District Act of 1980, the Bike Path and Land Conservancy.
The site, which can be found at, provides a brief history of the association, allows visitors to view the GICIA’s “Keeping It Grande” video, provides a link to the Gasparilla Island Conservation District Act of 1980 and provides contact information for the Association.
The GICIA is excited to have an internet presence,” Elliott said. “We plan to monitor usage of the site so we may adequately assess whether additional information should be added.”GICIA Logo 12-28-12
