The Boca Grande Camera Club’s annual “Photography as Art” show will be held at The Boca Grande Art Center this weekend – Friday, Saturday and Sunday – March 6 through 8. The show will kick off with an opening reception on Friday, March 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. Fine wines and delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Eighteen BGCC members will be exhibiting all types of photographs, in a virtual trip around the world. Works from local Boca Grande images to the Galapagos Islands, with subjects from beach landscapes to dancers to the Blue-footed Booby will be on display.
Many will be available for sale, along with the ever-popular greeting cards and coasters.
Shana Perry will be presenting a retrospective show of some of the late Skip Perry’s black-and-white works dating from the 1960s to the present. Many Islanders will be pleased to see what was perhaps Skip’s most iconic work, “Mosquito Plane,” on display.
The opening reception will take place on Friday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., serving hors d’oeuvres and wines. Hours on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
