School Board cuts next year budget

The School Board of Lee County approved a 2025-26 budget totaling $2,919,795,073, a decrease of $114,667,599 from the previous year’s $3,034,462,672 budget, along with the district’s comprehensive 10-year capital plan.

Case closed: Jewelry found in … another case

Last week, the Beacon published information from a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office report of a possible jewelry theft from the Boca Grande Resort on Aug. 24. Shortly after the items were reported missing, the owner found the jewelry in a suitcase, according to management at the resort.
