To the Editor:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Royal Palm Players, I want to thank the entire Boca Grande community for the unprecedented support we got for our 2014-2015 season. People turned out in record numbers for every show we did. In addition, contributions were at an all-time high, further ensuring the future stability and success of our organization.
Who will ever forget Jackie Moynihan’s one-woman tribute to the legendary Patsy Cline, or the unprecedented fifth sold-out performance of Oklahoma, the poignant and sensitive presentation of Twelve Angry Jurors last fall, or the laugh-a-minute Rumors, by Neil Simon, in February, and the evening with the king himself, Elvis Presley, as performed by Dwight Icenhower? This was truly a season to remember.
I am pleased to say that we had over 60 actors on stage supported by an equal number of backstage people – stage hands and stage managers, set designers, painters and builders, producers, musicians, props and costumes committees and a hard working board. Royal Palm is truly a community effort.
We have another great line up of shows in store for Boca Grande next year, including a staged reading of The Curious Savage in November, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig (author of Lend Me a Tenor) in February, the all-time hit musical Hello, Dolly! in March, and a rock ‘n’ roll finale to the season by The Goldtones, Florida’s hottest doo-wop group.
Order forms and detailed information on our upcoming season will be sent to you in October. Don’t get left out – order your tickets early to ensure you’ve got a seat for every performance.
Thanks again, Boca Grande, for making our 25th season our best ever. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
