Resilience at Boca Grande Health Clinic

February 15, 2024
By Boca Grande Health Clinic

The Boca Grande Health Clinic and Foundation will welcome Yale-trained and board-certified psychiatry specialist Alexander P. Miano, M.D. on February 20, 2024, for an in-person talk on resilience.

Resilience is the ability to cope with and recover from adversity and setbacks experienced during difficult moments in our lifetime. Through innate and acquired factors and coping skills, resilience helps individuals and communities navigate more effectively through the challenges, changes and setbacks brought upon us, often helping us learn and grow from such experiences instead of feeling overwhelmed. Attendees will learn how to apply a small number of factors and strategies to more effectively apply resilience in helping navigate the inevitable challenges of life.

What: “Resilience to ordinary and extraordinary events. Overcoming life’s predictable and unpredictable challenges.”

Where: The Gasparilla Inn Beach Club, Gulf Room

How: Space is limited. RSVP to yuliy@bghcfoundation.com or (941) 964-0099.

Dr. Miano is a board-certified psychiatry specialist at Hartford HealthCare’s Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn. He has more than 26 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1995 and completed his residency/fellowship in neuropsychiatry, transcranial magnetic stimulation and clinical psychopharmacology at Yale University School of Medicine in 2000.
