To the Editor:
Greetings, my Lemon Bay Conservancy Tarpon & Snook Net Pull Volunteer Team friends, I hope everyone had a great summer.
It’s that time again, and I am excited to invite you all to participate in our first of three weekend team Wildflower Net Pulls for this season. LBC Wildflower Preserve net pull dates with will be held on:
• Saturday, Oct. 22 at 8:30 a.m.
• Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Key Net Pull team members will meet me at the shed to load netting on boat & LBC equipment at 7:50 a.m.
If you are interested in participating in this program, confirm by email to or call (941) 898-6258 or (941) 697-1707. Let me know if you can attend and if you are bringing any friends. This a terrific way to get some great outdoor exercise and to meet outstanding people who share common preservation and conservation values for our rare and valuable tarpon habitat. Please invite some of your fellow fishing buddies to volunteer and learn from our many volunteer professionals. I look forward to meeting with you all and performing some important scientific testing and validation of our resident juvenile snook and tarpon living in our Lemon Creek’s healthy backwater mangrove tidal habitat.
At times we my also have some of our talented local STEM Lemon Bay and L.A. Ainger Middle School volunteers attending.
Best wishes to all,
Jim Cooper,
LBC President Tarpon Net Pull Coodinator Wildflower Preserve
