Parking citations listed, year over year

The number of parking citations in Boca Grande are up from year over year, according to data from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. 

Lee County Commissioner David Mulicka brought up citation data during Tuesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting while talking about the proposed parking ordinance. The Beacon obtained data from the department.

In 2023 there were 303 parking citations; in 2024 there were 633, and so far in 2025, there have been 255, according to data sent by Katie Walker of LCSO Public Affairs.

There were 132 warnings in 2024 and 22 warnings so far this year, according to LCSO data.
