Kathleen and J.T. Turner, as well as Betsy F. Joiner are excited to announce the full re-opening of the historic Boca Grande Old Theatre Mall.

We are so thankful to have weathered the storms and are back stronger than ever.

A special thank you to our local caregivers including the Boca Grande Fire Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Glenn Scarpa and his great crew from day one; Grande Aire, Gasparilla /Donahue Plumbing, Grove City Electric, Giacinti Contractors, Bowen Builders, Dunrite Carpets & Tile Cleaners; Italiano Insurance, Gasparilla Island Landscaping, our friends, customers and families.

The Boca Grande Theatre is located on 321 Park Ave. and like Gasparilla Island itself is steeped in Island heritage. It was established in 1928, and has enchanted all kinds of moviegoers, from tarpon fishermen to industry moguls and now in present day welcomes our community of shoppers, art lovers and diners of all ages.

We invite you to come inside, browse and enjoy Smart Studio with a local third generation artist, Rebecca Cleveland’s new creations, side by side by her Grandmother’s “Wini Smart” and her mother Gail Cleveland’s beautiful art that islanders have collected for years. Carolyn Madden in The Tide has partnered with Alice Pollard. They are busy creating a new fun, colorful and exciting space with Books, Games and Gifts. Alice Pollard is also showcasing her collection of Jack Tar Togs.

Scarpa’s Coastal has a brand new look inside, sparkling with black and white accents throughout, plus friendly faces ready to welcome you inside for a delightful dining experience, featuring authentic Italian fare and fresh seafood entrees. Enjoy the fun and bustling bar where all the best stories are told while sipping on your favorite cocktails and of course the entertaining fish tank.

Take a walk upstairs to Grande Stitches Needlepoint Shop. Janice Hursen is happy to greet you and introduce you to the beautiful art of Needlepoint, featuring beautiful Island Designs created by Julie Pischke. Also upstairs are Jeff Giacinti Contracting and Boca Grande Realty Advisors, as well as several other private business offices.

It has certainly been a full three months of hard work and extra love caring for this historic building. They thank you all for your support.
