Patrick J. Cunningham of Boca Grande passed away November 18, 2019. He was born on May 29, 1934 to John and Deborah (O’Connor) Cunningham of Pittsburgh, PA. Patrick graduated from St. Vincent’s College, Latrobe, PA in 1956 and attained an MBA from the University of Chicago. He served in the Army and afterwards joined Westinghouse Electric. He was then employed by Texas Instruments and was hired away by Allegheny International. He ran their international division during which time he lived in Mexico City for one year. Subsequently, he was able to purchase several companies from AI which he ran until he sold them prior to his retirement in 1998. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Maribeth. He is the father of; Devin Cunningham and Meghan Mead (John Roberts) and three grandchildren; Lucan, Liam and Juliette. He also leaves behind stepsons; Brian Bruce (Margaret), Scott Bruce and stepdaughters; Leslie Driscoll and Lizabeth Bail (Steve); and six grandchildren; Maribeth Lee (Matthew), Brian Bruce Jr., Andrew Bruce, Michelle Bruce, Mary Bail, Stephen Bail; and two great-grandchildren.

Patrick loved his home in Telluride, CO as well as a ranch that he and his wife owned in Ridgeway, CO where they raised horses for 12 years. The also maintained a home in Northfield, IL as well as a cottage on the lake outside of South Haven, MI.

He was a member of Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield, IL and was a member of Boca Grande Pass Club, Boca Grande Pass Yacht Club, Coral Creek Club and Lemon Bay Golf Club.

He enjoyed skiing, golfing, tennis, boating, horseback riding and traveled the world with his wife. He was a passionate fan of both football and baseball. Patrick was a warm and loving man with a natural personal charm that drew people to him. He attracted people wherever he went with his engaging personality and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 240 Park Ave., Boca Grande, FL on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at 11 a.m.
