Harold Curtis Wells Jr. of Cape Cod and Boca Grande passed away on December 9, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born in Medford, Massachusetts on June 11, 1933 to Ruth McKay and Harold Curtis Wells, Sr. Harold grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts  where he enjoyed pond skating and baseball. He went on to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. While there he also distinguished himself on the hockey team becoming captain his senior year. He graduated in 1955.
In June of 1955, he married Beryl Sprinkle of West Harwich and that same year Harold entered the United States Naval School and attended Officers Candidate School in Newport, RI. He graduated as an Ensign and was sent to the Great Lakes Naval Training Center where he studied electrical engineering and graduated 2nd in his class. Always a strong leader, in 1957 he was promoted to lieutenant and served aboard the USS Roy O. Hale DER336 until 1959.
After completing his service to his country he moved to the private sector where he had a distinguished 28 year career at Microwave Associates in Burlington, growing with the company from a sales manager to a company president. During this time Beryl and Harold settled in Concord, Massachusetts where they had fond memories of raising their three children while also enjoying summers in West Dennis.
As avid Bruins fans, Harold and Beryl not only loved seeing games at the Garden but also enjoyed traveling to Montreal to watch the Bruins play. Seeing Bobby Orr score the winning goal in the 1970 Stanley Cup Championship was a highlight for Harold.
When Harold retired in 1991, he and Beryl moved to Boca Grande, Florida. Harold joined the Lemon Bay Golf Club where he spent time as president and enjoyed his 29 years of weekly games with his close knit circle of friends. Continuing to put down roots he joined the Men’s Club and the Boca Grande Pass Yacht Club. His love of boating and tennis continued in Florida (he was known for charting the net). Summers on Cape Cod were spent close to family and where Harold was an active member of the Cummaquid Golf Course. He also loved boating on Bass River and playing tennis at the Mid-Cape Racket Club.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years Beryl, his son Curtis and his wife Tina of Harvard, Mass., his daughter Christina and her husband Robert Sullivan of Dunstable, Mass., and his daughter Tracy and her husband Dan Foley of Medfield, Mass., along with many cherished family members on Cape Cod and in the greater Boston area. His six grandchildren, Amber, Alexander, Michael, Coleman, Callie and Sean will forever remember the values, integrity and unconditional love he showed them.
Family and friends are invited to  visiting hours at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in West Harwich, Mass. on Sunday, December 15th from 4pm -8pm. The funeral will follow on Monday, December 16th at the Brewster Baptist Church in Brewster, Mass at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Harwichport, MA.
