Many thanks from the Chamber for an excellent golf tourney
To the Editor:
The Boca Grande Chamber Fall Scramble golf tournament was again a huge success this year. It required the efforts of 18 teams of golfers and 28 sponsors to raise over $22,000 to support the Boca Grande Chamber Scholarship Fund and the Boca Grande Chamber.
In 2016 the Boca Grande Chamber awarded $15,000 to 14 local students, and this event ensures continued success next school year for some very deserving kids. I would like to thank the following for their support:
The Gasparilla Inn for their generosity in providing their world-class golf course, lunches and after-golf beverages and hors d’oeuvres at the beach club. Special thanks to Jon Reecher, Robert Duke and their phenomenal and professional staff on the course and at the beach club.
We were extremely pleased to welcome as our Premier Sponsor Hilltide Estates, developed by BCB Homes and Seagate Development.
In addition, thanks to Englewood Home Inspections and Shremshock Surveyors for providing two beverage carts during play, and Gulf to Bay Sotheby’s for their golfball sponsorship.
While nobody was able to sink a hole-in-one, we had Paradise Cove Properties standing by with a sponsored $10,000 hole-in-one chance as well as E-Z Go Golf carts, with a chance to win one of their top-of-the-line golf carts. Kevin and Nancy Hyde served as witnesses.
Thanks to each and every player who came out on what may have been one of the nicest days in Florida in many months, as well as all 24 hole sponsors.
Lastly, I would like to thank the Boca Grande Fire Department for their assistance in setting up and breaking down at both the golf course and beach club, and the effort Dawn Havens at The BRC Group put into making this whole event come off without a hitch. The entire Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce board thanks you!
