STAFF REPORT – The Literature Forum’s February session featured an animated discussion of Elsa Morante’s “Arturo’s Island”, with veteran presenters Joan Ardrey and Simonetta Balzer providing an excellent analysis of both the book and the author.
The Forum’s upcoming meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th in the Houghton Room of the Community Center. Presenter Charles Clarke will initiate the discussion of “The End of the Affair” by Graham Greene, which is considered by many to be one of the great novels of the 20th century. Set in wartime 1940s London, the story begins with the remembering of a love affair gone wrong and makes the reader question the nature of love and religion without providing an answer. All are welcome to attend what will surely be a fascinating presentation.
