LETTER TO THE EDITOR: BIPS thanks many for another great season
To the Editor:
As our season comes to a close and summer begins, I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and our BIPS Board to thank all our friends and visitors who utilized our four parks, lighthouses and gift shops and participated in our numerous programs and activities.
None of that would have been possible without our staff and wonderful volunteers, especially our incredible Executive Director Sharon McKenzie. Sharon has held us together with help from the Board through two years of the pandemic.
During that time she kept programs going with short staff, worked well with our amazing park rangers and still found the time to write grants which helped immensely in funding our programs. Her work with our Green Gala committee, who were amazing in their own right, resulted in our most successful event ever after a two-year hiatus.
As noted, Sharon’s help from her staff and volunteers and support from the Board helped make this possible.
We are looking forward to more programs and events in the next year while working hard this summer with beach patrol and turtle protection.
Here’s wishing everyone a safe summer and safe return to our beautiful island.
