The Lee Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, Nov. 18 selected District 2 Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass to serve as Board Chairman for the coming year and District 3 Commissioner David Mulicka to serve as vice chairman.
The Board selects a chairman annually on the third Tuesday in November from among the commissioners. Commissioner Pendergrass previously served as vice chairman.
As chairman, Commissioner Pendergrass will preside over all board meetings and zoning hearings and conduct other extensive duties falling under the purview of that role.
“This marks my fourth term serving as Chairman since being elected in 2012, and I am honored to have the continued support and confidence of my fellow Board members. Our focus remains on providing excellent services and advancing key improvements across the County. I look forward to the year ahead, working with our outstanding staff and representing the citizens of Lee County in my role as Chairman,” said Pendergrass, after the meeting.
