The Boca Grande Fire Department and Lee County EMS handled several calls this week that included an accident at 5th Street and Gasparilla Road involving an SUV and a trucker hauling a piece of excavation equipment on a trailer.
That call came in at 4:33 p.m. on Tuesday. While it was originally reported that there were injuries involved, no one was transported by Lee County EMS.
On Sunday, March 31 a man walked into the fire department with a stingray barb in his arm, an injury he received while on a boat. He was transported by ambulance to Englewood Community Hospital.
On that day at 4:34 p.m. the fire department and EMS were also called to assist with a vehicle accident with minor injuries at Placida Road and the Causeway on Sunday, March 31. They were cancelled before arrival.
On Thursday, March 28 the fire department and EMS were called to the Boca Grande Causeway at Gulf Shores Drive for a three-vehicle accident with no injuries.
