Island School kids take honors in Lee County bookmark contest

Three winners were announced from The Island School bookmark contest on Thursday, Feb. 18. The theme was, “I Love My Library.”
The two honorable mention winners were Eirinn Shortuse (far right) and Laney Baker (center). The grand prize was awarded to Isabella Swelland (far left). Isabella won a $25 gift certificate to Books-A-Million and an invitation to the Reading Festival in Fort Myers. Johann Fust Community Library Branch Manager Toni Vanover presented the awards.
The kids enjoyed cake after the winners were announced. The annual event is sponsored by the Lee County Library system.
