Gasparilla Island Water Authority continues operations through Hurricane Helene

The Island’s Water Authority will continue normal operations through Hurricane Helene as it passes by Gasparilla Island. There will be no interruptions in service. According to Ronald Bolton, Executive Director:

• GIWA office will be closed to the public on Thursday, Sept. 26, and will be open for normal hours on Friday.
• Operations will be normal throughout the event with no expected service interruptions.
• The utility will be cycling the lift stations and taking other flood prevention measures to deal with expected storm surge.
