Two reports of thefts came across the desk at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office recently, which included a missing trailer, three hats and a greeting card.
On Monday, June 6 deputies spoke with a complainant in the 300 block of Pilot Point Lane, who said that sometime between June of last year and June 4 this year, his boat trailer was stolen. The complainant said he keeps his boat elsewhere and hadn’t needed the trailer since then, so it was kept in the yard at the Pilot Point location. The trailer is described as a 2007 silver Quickload trailer valued at $2,500.
On Saturday, June 4 deputies arrived at the Fugates store downtown to find that someone had tried to pay for three Ole Flag hats and a greeting card with a credit card that was declined. The store employee said the woman in question, a white female with blond hair, picked up the bag of items and exited the store. The employee followed the woman out of the store and watched her get into a golf cart with another female, then proceed in an eastbound direction on Fourth Street until they were out of sight. The hats were listed as worth $27 each. The greeting card’s value was $3.29.
