Art On Park returns to Boca Grande this weekend as Chamber event

The Boca Grande Art On Park Avenue Festival returns to the island on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22 and 23. This juried and curated art event will transform Park Avenue and 4th Street into a live fine art gallery for two days, co-sponsored by the Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce and artist Carroll Swayze.
Swayze is committed to creating a well-balanced, high-quality art festival and has spent the last year inviting artists from all over the country to come to Boca Grande. Over 50 award-winning fine artists and craftspeople will be exhibiting their original artwork in every media imaginable.
“I have spent countless hours organizing and planning this festival to make it a good fit for the island as well as a successful event for the artists who travel long distances to participate,” Swayze said. “Art on Park Avenue is a premiere art-collecting opportunity for the community with a wide variety of beautiful artwork to enjoy. I am excited to share my collection of artists with friends on the island and look forward to a wonderful weekend of creative inspiration.”
Among the artists exhibiting will be sculptor Ben Foster from Wyoming, with his life-size bronze statues; wildlife watercolorist Steve Whitlock; Gaffer Rich Fizer will be showing off his large colorful blown glass walls; Lisa Tevia Clark will exhibit her sea-life mosaics; and sculptor John Grammer will be here all the way from St. John, USVI, with his aluminum ocean creatures. Tom Krause’s acrylic nature paintings, Alexis Barbeau’s hand-forged jewelry, and Kristin Moger’s latest intricate fine-line drawings will also be present. Our very own local artist Carroll Swayze herself will be exhibiting her latest original acrylic paintings. There will truly be something for everyone.
Art On Park Avenue will be open on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your family and friends for a day in the Florida sunshine and enjoy downtown Boca Grande again. Most of the island shops and boutiques are open for shopping, and you can enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner at one of the island’s many fabulous restaurants.
