The Florida Press Association has notified the Boca Beacon that it has won 15 awards for its coverage in 2023. The awards are set to be announced at their upcoming July conference. Three of those awards are for members of our larger Boca Grande Community, including a community service award.
Across all news and online media, the Boca Beacon won a state community service award for in the categorgy of public service campaign. The paper submitted the campaign for Auxcomm, or the Auxiliary Communications of the Boca Grande Fire Department, in the name of Chief C.W. Blosser.
The Association only announces awards but does not announce what place they are.
For reader generated photo, the Friends of Boca Grande won an award for reader-generated photo, as did MasTec, the contractor for the Boca Grande cell tower. Other categories of awards included:
